THE LAYING OF THE STONES - HISTORICAL FIRST MOMENTS |
|
 |
| The Brighton Walk of Fame plaques bearing the names of the first 100 names to be inducted were laid into the sidewalk creating a trail along the new Waterfront Building at Brighton Marina in February 2003. The only plaque that was laid in preference was that of King George 1V who was responsible for taking what was a tiny coastal village into one of England's premier sea side resorts. To many people this maverick monarch is the most significant celebrity the city has ever had and so George took the No.1 and pride of place on the walk. Many of the stars honoured have visited the Brighton Walk of Fame since it's birth including Chris Eubank, Adam Faith, Leo Sayer Amanda Redman, Dora Bryan, Kevin Rowland, Nick Berry, Norman Cook & ZoÎ Ball just to mention a few. |
